1. A resident has the right to confidentiality of their records.
2. A resident has the right to be informed of the Destiny Grove’s philosophies and methods.
3. A resident has the right to be informed of financial arrangements including the availability of money during the program and upon leaving.
4. A resident has the right to be informed of the rules and guidelines of the program.
5. A resident has the right to personally advise relatives or friends of their whereabouts upon admission.
6. A resident has the right to expect that Destiny Grove will ensure access to appropriate medical care.
7. A resident has the right of return of personal property on leaving, including any money due under the admission contract. (NOTE: personal property left at Destiny Grove on discharge will be kept for 14 days only, after which time it will be forwarded to an appropriate charitable organisation. Monies due to the resident will be paid by cheque.)
8. A resident who is discharged or leaves against advice has the right to be given information about the nearest independent assessment services and to be guaranteed the means of reaching the nearest office of the Department of Community Services.
9. A resident has the right not to be subjected to or threatened with any form of physical abuse.
10. A resident has the right to maintain her health, safety, dignity and integrity.
11. A resident has the right to expect that Destiny Grove will take reasonable steps to protect her from infectious diseases.
12. A resident has the right to expect that any property and personal searches which may be necessary, will be conducted with dignity.
13. A resident has the right to communicate with persons or organisations subject only to the rules of Destiny Grove agreed at the time of admission.
14. A resident has the right to an effective procedure for the voicing of grievances without reprisal.
15. A resident has the right to refuse or agree to the release of information concerning their presence in the program to any inquirer without legal right to information.
16. A resident has the right to access a recognised legal aid service.
